At first , it wasn't easy for me to strike up conversions with strangers in group chats. but I soon came to realize that unlike other online communites, chatrooms enable real time communications. This is a big plus.
These days, I am active in serveral group chats. First, there are group chats for freinds and family. There are also groups chats for school parents, moms in our apartment complex, book clubs, and study groups. and of course, there's a group chat where i show off that I caught the original broadcasts of "입트영"
There might be hundreds of messages a day in a busy group chat, so its best to turn off notifcations or set them to silent. I sometimes read a lot of messgaes at once, since i can't check each time. This is called "riding the wall", and it can be quite time consuming.
